Gatha vs LinkedIn

The LinkedIn alternative built for UK property.

LinkedIn is for every industry. Gatha is a free social media app where everyone works in property or construction. Your followers see every post, and jobs and projects are built in.

Why property people want something else.

LinkedIn does a lot well. It just isn't made for property.

Property and construction only

Developers, landlords, agents, brokers, surveyors, architects and trades. No recruiters selling courses and no posts about someone's cat.

Your followers see every post

No algorithm roulette. Follow someone and their posts land in your feed. Post something and your followers see every post.

Your role, your sector

Every post shows the poster's role, and you can narrow the feed to residential, commercial or land. Add your postcode and Trades shows nearby jobs first.

Jobs and projects built in

Trades find work from site. Developers and agents list projects for sale or needing investment. All in the same app as the feed.

Gatha vs LinkedIn vs Facebook and WhatsApp groups.

The bits LinkedIn doesn't have.

On LinkedIn, a site for sale is just another post, and the jobs board is built for salaried roles, not trades. On Gatha both have their own boards.

  • Projects. List a site for sale, one that needs investment, needs planning or is open to collaboration, with photos, value and strategy: HMO, buy-to-let, refurb, build to rent.
  • Trades. Post a job from site, or find work by trade and postcode, and apply in a tap.

Where LinkedIn still wins.

We'd rather be straight with you. Keep LinkedIn if:

  • You're hiring for salaried office roles, or looking for one. LinkedIn is still where CVs live.
  • Your work is mostly corporate or commercial, with clients outside property.
  • You need reach outside the UK, or you want to work from a desktop browser.

Keep both if you like. LinkedIn for the CV, Gatha for the day-to-day.

And the Facebook and WhatsApp groups?

They're free and everyone's already in them. But a Facebook or WhatsApp group is one conversation someone else runs. Good posts vanish up the chat, and a site for sale sits next to a lost dog. There's no profile to show what you do either. On Gatha your posts stay on your profile where your followers see them, and deals and jobs live on their own boards.

Questions about switching.

Is Gatha a LinkedIn alternative for property?
Yes. Gatha is a social media app built only for people who work in UK property and construction. You get a feed, a profile, direct messages, a jobs board for trades and a projects board, and it's built only for people in the industry.
Should I leave LinkedIn?
No need. Plenty of people keep LinkedIn for their CV and corporate contacts and use Gatha for the property side, the deals and the people they do business with.
Is Gatha free?
Yes. Gatha is free to download and use. Gatha Pro is an optional upgrade at £9.99 a month with the Pink Tick, post scheduling, analytics and a website link on your profile. Gatha Business, the company account, is £24.99 a month. Both are bought in the app.
Who can join Gatha?
Anyone whose work touches UK property: developers, landlords and investors, estate and letting agents, brokers and lenders, surveyors, architects, solicitors, and trades from electricians to groundworkers.
How is Gatha different from a Facebook or WhatsApp group?
A Facebook or WhatsApp group is one conversation that someone else runs. On Gatha you have your own profile and followers, and your posts don't vanish up a chat. Jobs and projects have their own boards, so they don't get lost in the feed.
